We have just had official word (in The Metro ) that vegan cheese pizzas will now be available at all UK Pizza Hut restaurants.
Rumours were speculating over the weekend that Pizza Hut were now going to be rolling out vegan cheese toppings to all restaurants across the UK. Vegan Food UK have just had the first official news that this is in fact correct.
It’s great news for vegan Pizza Hut fans as, as from today, you will be able to get vegan cheese on your pizzas at most, if not all, restaurants across the UK.
What you need to know
- Pizza Hut will be using Violife vegan cheese to melt on top of pizzas.
- The Violife will cost you an extra £1 on top of your bill
- The Pan Base pizzas and all American Thins are vegan (not stuffed crust)
Pizza Hut trialed the vegan cheese at five branches: Bluewater, Canterbury, Chatham, Crawley and Thanet. The trial of the Violife cheese took place from October 11 until November 26 and thankfully it was a success.
Vegan Food UK member Jenny Edwards tried the new Violife pizzas at Pizza Hut and had this to say about it:
“I think the the Violife worked perfectly and they melted it better than I ever could. My only criticism of it is that it sticks to your teeth when you are eating it.”
Despite the news now being official, we strongly recommend that you call your local Pizza Hut branch ahead of time to confirm they are stocking the new vegan cheese.
