Best Ever Vegan Fish with Chips & Tartare Sauce

We have found the best vegan fish in the UK at the supermarkets. So we thought we would share an incredible plant-based tartare sauce recipe to go with it.

Gardein Fishless Fillets are available in Sainsbury’s in the frozen section and they taste unreal, or real, you know what we mean. Literally the closest thing to fish we have tasted, without the cruelty.

Ingredients

  • One packet of frozen Gardein Golden Fishless Fillets
  • Tartare Sauce
  • Four Tbsp Vegan Mayonnaise
  • One Tbsp Capers (chopped)
  • One Tbsp Caper Juice (from jar)
  • One Tbsp Gherkins (chopped finely)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Serve along side:
  • Mushy Peas
  • Oven Chips
  • Parsley Garnish
  • A wedge of lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F
  2. Lay the fishless fillets out on a baking tray and place in the oven – follow the simple cooking instructions on the back of the packet.
  3. For the Tartare Sauce: In a bowl add the mayonnaise, capers, caper juice, gherkins, salt & pepper and mix. 
  4. Pour into a serving dish.
  5. When the fishless fillets are cooked, serve with chips, mushy peas, a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of chopped parsley.
