Greggs’ sales climb 10% thanks to vegan sausage roll

It’s almost as if there is a huge demand for vegan products in the UK – who would’ve thought?

In the first seven weeks of 2019, Greggs’ sales have climbed almost 10% which they are putting down to the hype of the new vegan sausage rolls.

The vegan sausage roll was launched on 3 January and since then they have been struggling to keep up with demand.

Launch of the vegan sausage roll caused national mayhem, even with Piers Morgan frequently kicking off about it on his ITV show ‘Good Morning Britain’.

Piers’ taunts did nothing to the success of the launch as Greggs have said that profits are expected to be higher than usual and shares are up 7%.

The vegan sausage roll at Greggs is made of Quorn and costs £1. It is expected to roll out to all stores nationwide by 8 March 2019.
