Greggs introduce a savoury vegan option to their menu

Greggs new summer menu launches and on it is something savoury and vegan.

Greggs to launch a new savoury option

Greggs seem to be going all healthy on us as they have just launched their new summer menu which includes salads, hummus & carrot sticks and wraps.

That’s a wrap

From 14 June vegans in the UK will be able to grab a savoury option from the new menu in the form of a Mexican Bean Wrap which will cost £3.

Not another bean sandwich we hear you say? Well that’s right, as earlier in the year PETA (People for the Ethical Treatmeant of Animals) launched a petition to get vegan sausage rolls in Greggs, but to no avail.

Roger Whiteside, CEO of Greggs said “We’re aware people would like those types of options in some of our savoury categories and things, but they’re more difficult to achieve, frankly, because what we’re looking to do is to find things that have broad appeal because they taste great.”

And what about the Belgian Buns?

The iced begian buns have caused so much controversy over the last few months, but we have official word from Greggs that they have reverted back to the old recipe which is vegan-friendly – phew!

Accidentally vegan sweet treats
