Healthy Wholefood Vegan Meatballs

Healthy vegan meatballs are filling, wholesome and delicious.

What makes them healthy is that they are made up primarily of kidney beans, so they are also full of protein.

This recipe is also gluten free if you use gluten free oats.

We bake the meatballs in this recipe which means they don’t need any oil either.

They are absolutely wonderful with our famous Marinara Sauce and spaghetti.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of drained Kidney Beans
  • 1 cup of Oats (gluten-free oats for the gluten-free option)
  • 1 small Onion (half a large onion)
  • 1 Tsp Tomato Puree
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 2 Tsp Dried Oregano
  • A handful of fresh Basil
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to gas mark 5 or 190C
  • Line a baking tray with parchment paper
  • Place all the ingredients into a food processor and process for a couple of minutes until a paste is formed, scraping the sides down as you go. 
  • When the mixture is ready, roll up into balls and place on the baking tray. The mix should make around eight medium-sized meatballs.
  • Place into the oven for 25 minutes.
  • Serve with spaghetti and marinara sauce.
