Papa John’s to Launch New Vegan Menu Next Week

Vegans around the UK will be delighted to hear that Papa John’s will be launching vegan cheese pizzas as of next week.

There will be four new vegan options on the menu, all with the addition of a plant-based melted cheese.

The new additions are a result of a campaign organised by vegan charity, Animal Aid, and the news/blogging site, Vegan Food UK.

“We hope that this decision helps to encourage similar companies to up their vegan game and introduce more plant-based options.”

Tod Bradbury, Campaigns Manager for Animal Aid

Almost 30,000 signatures were amassed on a petition which asked Papa John’s to provide a vegan cheese alternative.

What’s on the vegan menu?

Sheese will be the vegan cheese used on all of these options:

  • Vegan Sheese and Tomato Pizza
  • Garden Party with Sheese
  • Hot Pepper Passion with Sheese

Another exciting addition is Marmite and Sheese Scrolls as a side order. There is talk of more additions being added in the future.

Papa John’s have also worked with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) on the new menu.

“We applaud Papa John’s, the first national pizza-delivery chain in the UK to offer dairy-free cheese at all of its locations – this truly is a game changer.”

Dawn Carr, Director of Vegan Corporate Projects for PETA

We understand that the new vegan menu wil eventually be rolled out to all 350 Papa John’s locations, starting Monday 28 January.
