ELLE magazine will now be ditching the Fur
After working with charities, including humane society international, ELLE leapt to ban any Fur from being promoted on their behalf worldwide. The use of fur does not produce the image they are aiming for anymore.
Only 13 editions have taken this into action, but 20 more will be in January 2022, and the remaining 12 will be making the switch by January 2023.
Other companies have also started to take a stand against the use of fur. Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and Balenciaga all committed to ending any fur within their lines by 2022.
Valeria Bessolo Llopiz announced at a UK conference last Thursday that ‘The presence of animal fur in our pages and on our digital media is no longer in line with our values’.
Senior vice president of ELLE told Reuters, ‘It’s a really great opportunity to increase awareness for animal welfare, bolster the demand for sustainable and innovative alternatives’
