Deep-Fried Cheeze Sticks

Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside! Comfort food doesn't get better than this.
These Deep Fried Cheeze Sticks are perfect for a bit of Friday night indulging and so simple to make too.

Directions
1Preheat the oil in the deep fryer to around 170ºC degrees. Using a sharp knife, cut the melting mature into 1/2” strips and put it to one side while preparing the batter.
2In a medium bowl add the flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika (if desired), onion powder, salt, and pepper. Then add in the almond milk and whisk together until all ingredients are well combined to a thick batter and put to one side.
3In another bowl, add the bread crumbs and Italian seasoning, and mix together to evenly disperse the herbs.
4Layout a sheet of filo pastry and roll up the melting mature strips in the pastry tucking in the edges to seal everything inside, then repeat this with the remaining strips.
5Take the wrapped strips and dip them in the batter to completely coat it. Then shake off any excess and then drop it into the breadcrumb mixture and toss it around to generously coat it. Transfer the breaded stick onto the plate or baking sheet that you set aside and continue until you have coated all of the sticks.
