Phew! That’s Valentine’s Day saved

With almost a week to go before Valentine’s Day, the unimaginable happened, a Vegan Food UK member finds vegan-friendly Ferrero Rocher.

No we aren’t pulling your leg, if you head down to your nearest Poundstretcher you will find the luxurious wafer coated, hazelnut praline filled, chocolate retailing for £1 a small box or £2.99 for a large heart shaped box.

The actual name of the chocolates are Kavici Choco Spheres and they would commonly fall into the ‘accidentally vegan’ category as they display no vegan certification. Nevertheless these choccies are vegan friendly. The full list of ingredients are: sugar, cocoa powder, cocoa mass, cocoa butter substitute, nut, wheat flour, salt, peanuts, soya, wheat and gluten

Ruby Miranda was one of the first Vegan Food UK members to spot the Rocher-like chocolates and she was amazed by the price and taste. She told us: “I’m always pleased to see accidentally vegan products popping up. These mock Ferrero Rochers are a great vegan alternative and they’re so cheap! They taste amazing, pretty similar to what I remember the non-vegan version tasting like”

Whether you will be buying these chocolates for a loved one this Valentine’s Day or you will be sat watching Netflix scoffing them yourself, it doesn’t matter. The most important thing is that vegan Ferrero Rochers are available to all of us in the UK.

Other supermarkets that are making an impact on the vegan world are Tesco’s who won Most Vegan Friendly Supermarket of 2017
