A new vegan camembert hitting the shelves in time for Christmas
Upfields are introducing a fresh Camembert flavoured cheese to their violife range. The ‘LE ROND’ cheese will be £3 and launch in Tesco on 8 November and Waitrose on 15 November.
The vegan cheese can be eaten hot or cold, and the coconut oil suggests it will melt nicely in the oven.
The violife cheese range currently includes but is not limited to; epic mature block, original grated, Greek white, cheddar slices, original slices, a Parmesan style wedge and a variety of cheese spreads.
There is also an addition of a festive selection box which includes Epic Mature Cheddar Flavour, Mozzarella flavour with Cranberries, Smoky Cheddar Flavour and Crumbly Greek White.
We posted the News on Vegan Food UK Instagram and people had mixed feelings.
One commented ‘If that camembert melts like a dairy one when baked I’m going to be the happiest (and fattest) man around.‘
Others saying ‘I honestly don’t think I could bring myself to try another camembert.‘
