The Happy Cow, Bristol’s first-ever fully vegan ice cream van is set to have a permanent spot at Narrow Quay on the harbourside.

It’s the only van in Bristol to sell only vegan ice cream including plant-based Mr Whippys, made from plant-based milk and coconut oil, available in waffle cones or in tubs with a spoon, both of which are fully compostable.

At the moment the ice cream van isn’t at Harbourside as the owner, Chris Reed, is awaiting their formal license. But Chris remains optimistic that Bristol is ‘the place’ to do this with it being such an ‘open city’.

There’s even talk of another van that will join the rounds as the feedback on The Happy Cow has been so great.

Chris also plans on making the ice cream van carbon neutral and plans to run the van off biofuel from leftover oil from his popular local fish and chip shop ‘Farrows’.

You can also hire The Happy Cow for events which is guaranteed to keep your guests pleased as Chris describes the ice cream as ‘better than normal ice cream’ and Chris’s daughter Esme, 5, is on regular quality control duty which is also good to know!
