In solidarity with the Ukrainian people, Finnebrogue who are best known for their Better Naked range, are setting an example through the name change and donation of profits in support of the humanitarian relief effort.

Following Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, Finnebrouge have announced the name change of it’s popular Chicken Kyiv as well as an immediate donation of £10,000 to UNICEF and the Red Cross. Furthermore, they have pledged 50% of the product’s profits to the humanitarian relief effort for 2022, setting an important example and highlighting their support of the Ukrainian people.

The much loved Chicken Kyiv is named after the city it originates from. While many are used to the spelling ‘Kiev’, it is intrinsically linked to the former USSR and particularly the younger generation of Ukrainian people have highlighted that this spelling is a relict of the soviet past while encouraging the usage of the spelling ‘Kyiv’.

Following the name change, Finnebrogue’s chief strategy officer Jago Pearson commented:

So many of us in the UK feel utterly helpless, but still determined to do what little we can. That’s why at Finnebrogue we are donating to the humanitarian effort and renaming our Better Naked Chicken Kyiv in recognition of the Ukrainian people’s brave defence of their proud nation.
