Is there anything Vegans cannot ‘Veganise’?

This Christmas is looking to be the best yet for Vegans all around the UK (and beyond) with such amazing products being launched every few days it seems

Plant Pioneers – which is Sainsbury’s plant based range – have really smashed it this year, it’s clear they’ve been extremely busy bees.

We first saw their launch of the Salmon En Croute and we thought this would be it, and we’d be fine with that, but Vegan Maple Glazed Gammon?! Go on then…

Now (we believe) this is the first vegan gammon roast that can be bought in supermarkets. This ‘joint’ is made using wheat and pea protein and then coated in a sticky and sweet maple glaze. Sounds delicious right? We think this would make a really good Christmas dinner centrepiece and would wow your flexitarian guests too. Something a lot of us work towards doing over the festive period.

This meat substitute will be available in stores from 8th December and will cost £5.50.

It seems that all the vegan centrepieces cost £5.5o this year, including the Taste The Difference Miso-Stuffed Butternut Squash, Plant Pioneers No Salmon En Croute AND Plant Pioneers No Turkey Crown.

On the side or as a starter, you could also have the Plant Pioneers No Chicken Kievs or how about some Mini Black Bean Tacos for something less tradional but equally delicious?

Plant Pioneers are also launching a Cheese Selection, which is a first for them.

The Vegan Cheeseboard features four dairy free cheeses: Caramelised Onion Cheddar-Style, Traditional Cheddar-Style, Wensleydale-Inspired with Cranberries and a Plant Based Blue. The cheeseboard will be available to purchase from 1st December and will cost £4.50.

Ultimately whether you dine at home, away from home, you eat all store bought items or fully homemade by just you or by friends or relatives, we know this Vegan Christmas will be a special one all around, we’ve all achieved a huge amount this year.
