A survey from the largest Vegan Group in the UK reveals the top Five vegan chocolates.
Vegan Food UK shared results from a survey where people voted for the best vegan chocolate. Altogether there were 5959 votes and 129 chocolate nominations.
Chocolate has become rapidly more available for vegans in 2021, and companies are releasing vegan versions of traditional favourites every month. This year, two monumental releases were the Cadbury’s Vegan Plant Bars and Nestlés Vegan Kit Kat. However, the Vegan brand NOMO is still held close to people’s hearts.
1. NOMO Caramel
The UK’s number one vegan chocolate brand is a firm favourite gaining one thousand votes and placing first in the polls. NOMO launched the smooth caramel bar in 2020, and ever since, Vegans nationwide have been obsessed.
Since the release, NOMO has also released caramel drops which are the same as the bar but in small teardrop shapes. These are also available in an advent calendar pyramid.
NOMO say that ‘many vegans and those with a food allergy or intolerance were excluded from mainstream chocolate; alienated from the same options that everyone else could enjoy’. This is why NOMO chocolate is not only dairy-free but also Nut-free.
2. VEGO Original
With 715 votes, VEGO original came in as the nations second favourite. The bar is made with whole hazelnuts and a hazelnut paste with gives it a creamy ‘Nutella’ taste.
Produced in Italy, it’s not just the UK who loves this plant-based chocolate; it is a worldwide favourite.
3. Love Raw Just M:lk Choc Wafer
Love Raw had a total of 600 votes for their ‘Just M:lk Choc wafer’. The bars are without palm oil, artificial flavours and ‘any other nonsense’.
The company says on the website, ‘We are on a mission to bring you awesome vegan chocolate, not only for vegans but for unvegan vegans too. Using superior ingredients and without compromising on taste’.
4. Rhythm 108 Hazelnut Truffle Bar
The Rhythm 108 hazelnut truffle bar was the fourth nation’s favourite, with 273 votes. The bar is filled with a delicious, creamy truffle hazelnut praline and coated in their signature Swiss vegan milk chocolate.

5. Booja Booja Truffles
Booja Booja chocolate truffles are fifth on the survey with 231 votes from the public. Booja Booja is multi-award-winning and are unique from other chocolates, presented in a luxury box and dusted with cocoa.
The company also stand out from others by making their truffles soy-free. This allows those with soy allergies to enjoy the chocolates, as many other brands include the ingredient.
