We Try Authentic German Döner Kebab, But Vegan!

When we heard about a new vegan kebab shop we knew we needed to give it a try.

Döner Komplett Mit Alles

The brand new vegan kebab shop opened up Wensum Street in Norwich on 18th August for a soft opening and then officially from 8th September.

Anne Schröer, who is originally from Cologne, in Germany, says the name of her restaurant translates to Döner At Aunty Anne’s. The flavours are inspired by her German roots and recipes taken from her grandmother and veganised.

From the above menu, we tried the Döner Komplett Mit Alles (complete with everything) which is soft pide bread generously filled with looots of salad, their seasoned seitan kebab ‘meat’ and lashings of homemade hot sauce.

We also tried the ‘Messy Potato Delight’ which are deliciously seasoned potato wedges topped with sauerkraut, sliced onions and tzatziki. Anne also makes amazing iced tea which cooled us down on the warm day that we visited.

It’s absolutely amazing to see new vegan establishments opening up and it’s always really great to see unique offerings too. The flavours in the food we tried was amazing and we cannot wait to go back again and try their other dishes. We have our eye on the Vegan Cheeze Toastie which has chilli jam in it!

Let us know what you think of the menu and what’s standing out to you.
